On second thought . . .

I'm withdrawing today's post because, upon re-reading it, it gave me reader's whiplash. I'd spent a lot of time on it so I'd decided to post it, but now I've thought better. However, if you'd like to see this overlong, briefly posted, half-baked musing, I've preserved it here. (The virtual equivalent of stuffing it in the back of the garage.) Nothing offensive (I hope!) about it - just too all over the place to be featured on the front page.
