Who remembers that publication? I think when I came across the Dag Achatz recording many years later, I first had the two pianists confused since they have the same initials.

I just heard about a recording by Serhiy Salov via this article about the recent Bad Plus performance. Have you heard it? It's available on Amazon download (probably iTunes as well).MICHAEL MONROEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16392848296427560715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-367173689821897070.post-19035488417130226812011-04-28T07:19:51.558-04:002011-04-28T07:19:51.558-04:00Dickran Atamian made something os a splash with th...Dickran Atamian made something os a splash with the Raphling transcription in the early eighties. He recorded it at least once. I have it on RCA digital vinyl and (perhapsw a later recording, or licensed to another label) as an iTunes download. A live performance was also broadcast on public television around that time - I remember watching it - he was sweating, and I was tearing up.Rick Robertsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15981554175936524568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-367173689821897070.post-31633540534824323292009-06-16T17:07:18.055-04:002009-06-16T17:07:18.055-04:00totally fascinating post, thanks!totally fascinating post, thanks!Baywatchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11463465151515489583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-367173689821897070.post-41440959249509444472009-06-07T05:14:38.999-04:002009-06-07T05:14:38.999-04:00It is really all down to the performer, in my mind...It is really all down to the performer, in my mind. Listening to live music is as much about the performance as the music, in my mind, and anything that pulls the audience in without harming the integrity of the piece can't be bad, in my book.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15067376934226559383noreply@blogger.com
