Joy, Joy, Joy

Today my third child was born - my first son! He is beautiful and a delight already. As much as I stand in awe of the creativity displayed by the likes of Bach, Mozart, Horowitz, Gould, etc., all pale in comparison to the genius of the Creator who gave us these children - and those creators. We naturally tend to let normal supply/demand market values cloud our aesthetic values so that the routine but miraculous glory of a child can seem less noteworthy than the rare gifts of the great artists. Well, I'm not saying it's really a competition, but watching my two daughters grow, learn, and create each day is to witness something that is routine and yet surpassingly sublime. It's such a privilege to be a father again.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Congrats and many blessings my friend! Your dad sent a picture via e-mail. Handsome little fella you got there. I know that you and Karen are thrilled. We are too!

All the best,

Blair

P.S. Ironically, I had a dream last night that I met Bono and we talked about our children.

Congratulations! I may be posting to the wrong person, but I have congratulated total strangers on the good fortune of becoming a parent before. No harm there. And well, I can't imagine there are too many Michael Monroe's from South Arkansas who play piano/cello. -- Jon from El Dorado

What a beautiful son you have. And yes, all praise to God. He has blessed you greatly!

Enjoy him, along with your other lovely children. (I am just starting the empty nest life and seeing your young ones warms my heart.)
